Top 10 Most Expensive Pokemon Cards From Rebel Clash

Prices updated 8/27/2024

Rebel Clash is a set that tends to get overshadowed in the Sword and Shield era, likely because it is wedged between the Base Set Sword and Shield and Darkness Ablaze, the first set to feature a Charizard chase card since the start of Gen 8. Although Rebel Clash perhaps isn't getting its due, that doesn't mean that the set doesn't come with a great collection of amazing cards. From Full Art Pokemon and Trainers, to Secret Rare Gold and Rainbow cards, Rebel Clash actually has a lot to offer! Let's take a look at the top 10 most expensive cards from Rebel Clash.

Toxtricity VMAX #196 Secret Rare is currently valued around $9.07 at the time of writing.

First to make the list is the Toxtricity VMAX Rainbow Secret Rare #196. Toxtricity is a dual-type Poison/Lightning Pokemon introduced in Gen-8 that has been received quite well by the fanbase.

Toxtricity's design is clearly based around the punk rock aesthetic, with his appearance, and even his attacks, pulling from elements of the style of music. This is similar to Obstagoon, another Pokemon that was also introduced in Gen-8.

#9. Inteleon VMAX #195 Secret Rare

Inteleon VMAX #195 Secret Rare is currently valued around $10.94 at the time of writing.

Inteleon is the first of the Sword & Shield starters to make this list, and he does it in Rainbow Secret Rare VMAX fashion. Inteleon is the final evolved form of Sobble, the water type starter introduced in Gen 8.

Inteleon is described as a well-mannered Pokemon that tends towards lazy when left alone. Inteleon also resembles a chameleon, and like a chameleon, is able to camouflage itself to avoid detection. It's expected to run into a starter this early in the list, and as you might predict, it won't be the last time.

#8. Sonia #203 Secret Rare

Sonia #203 Secret Rare is currently valued around $11.73 at the time of writing.

Early into the release of Rebel Clash, the Sonia #203 Secret Rare was actually the most expensive card in the set, with close competition from the Boss's Orders Giovanni Full Art. Although it has dropped in value since release, it still holds a respectable position at number 8.

Rebel Clash was about the time when Full Art Trainers were really starting to climb in price, after collectors saw the Full Art Marnie from Sword & Shield break records. Until this time, Full Art Trainers were largely viewed as worthless by the broader community. After a few notable YouTubers started promoting their favorite Full Arts, the general sentiment became more positive until an eventual hype would drive multiple Full Arts to the top. We still love the Full Art Secret Rare Sonia and think it is a great price to pick up and add to a collection.

#7. Rillaboom VMAX #193 Secret Rare

Rillaboom VMAX #193 Secret Rare is currently valued around $12.46 at the time of writing.

If you played Sword and Shield for the Nintendo Switch or have otherwise enjoyed the TCG for Sword and Shield then you'll definitely be familiar with the starters for Gen 8, like this Rillaboom VMAX card. Rillaboom is the final evolution of Grookey. This big green gorilla man looks equally good in rainbow as evidenced by the Rillaboom VMAX Rainbow Rare.

Starters have a tendency to fetch higher prices as collectors have an obvious draw toward collecting them, ever since the original 3 established themselves as some of the most expensive Pokemon cards of all time. People who play the games end up having a strong connection with the first Pokemon they choose in the game, and this helps to drive the price on these secret rare cards.

#6. Cinderace VMAX #194 Secret Rare

Cinderace VMAX #194 Secret Rare is currently valued around $14.46 at the time of writing.

It should be no surprise that Cinderace would make an appearance after both Rillaboom and Inteleon were featured on this list. This Rainbow Secret Rare Cinderace closes off the starter trio for Rebel Clash.

Cinderace is a fire-rabbit. Not much really needs to be said about how cool a pairing that is for a Pokemon, and it's probably safe to say Cinderace is the most popular starter from Gen 8. If you ask me, though? Grookey-gang all the way! I'll give Cinderace a close second, though.

Ninetales V #177 Ultra Rare is currently valued around $14.92 at the time of writing.

Now we arrive at an extremely underrated card from Rebel Clash, the Full Art Ninetales. The gorgeous design on this Gen-1 favorite will impress any Ninetales fans. Ninetales itself takes up the vast majority of the space on this card, in true Full Art fashion.

I just can't say enough about this card. When Rebel Clash was the 'current' set this card was way undervalued. Over time collectors have come to realize how amazing the art on this card is, and it has slowly started making its way up the rankings. It is very deserving of its place at #5, and may have higher to climb in the future.

#4. Dragapult VMAX #197 Secret Rare

Dragapult VMAX #197 Secret Rare is currently valued around $15.97 at the time of writing.

At #4 on our list of the most expensive Pokemon cards from Rebel Clash, we've got the Dragapult VMAX Rainbow Rare. Dragapult is a new Pokemon introduced in Gen 8. Despite being a new introduction to the TCG, game, and Pokemon world in general, Dragapult hasn't had any trouble gaining traction with the fanbase.

In fact, Dragapult has consistently ranked among the best Pokemon in the Sword and Shield meta for the Nintendo Switch. Having so much success in the TCG and game has driven this Pokemon's popularity up quite a bit, and it's no surprise that we can find him so high on this list.

Sonia #192 Ultra Rare is currently valued around $19.45 at the time of writing.

If Boss's Orders was the number 1 chase card of Rebel Clash at release, then the Full Art versions of Sonia definitely would've been number 2. This version in particular has got to be the most vibrant and eye-catching cards in all of Rebel Clash.

Sonia was a fan-favorite as soon as she was introduced in Sword and Shield. She is the granddaughter of Professor Magnolia and Leon's childhood friend. This card is one of the most exciting to pull in Rebel Clash and looks very nice in any Full Art collection.

#2. Boss's Orders #200 Secret Rare

Boss's Orders #200 Secret Rare is currently valued around $22.28 at the time of writing.

At #2 on our list we have a familiar face! While the Rainbow Secret Rare Boss's Orders did spend some time as the #1 most expensive card in Rebel Clash, competition from similar cards would make this short-lived.

It may even be fair to say that the release of Boss's Orders marked a change among collectors to prioritize Full Art trainers a lot more than they used to. Boss's Orders was originally sought after for the card game (even the regular holo used to go for quite a bit), but collectors took over in driving the value of Full Art trainers, even the ones that didn't see as much use in the TCG.

Boss's Orders #189 Ultra Rare is currently valued around $36.36 at the time of writing.

If you asked anyone at release what their number 1 chase card is, the most common answer likely would be Boss's Orders. After starting on release day as the most expensive card in the set, it dropped as far as #6 within the first few months of release. It is nice to see the Boss back on top after revisiting the set in 2024.

The value of Boss's Orders from Rebel Clash is due to several reasons. First, it features the popular Gen-1 head of Team Rocket, Giovanni. Giovanni is a fan-favorite villain and has a huge following as the first major bad guy. This card was also very playable in the TCG, and continues to offer a lot of display-ability in a collection.
