Top 10 Most Expensive Pokemon Cards From Rebel Clash

Top 10 Most Expensive Pokemon Cards From Rebel Clash

Rebel Clash is a set that tends to get overshadowed in the Sword and Shield era, likely because it is wedged between the Base Set Sword and Shield and Darkness Ablaze, the first set to feature a Charizard chase card since the start of Gen 8. Although Rebel Clash perhaps isn't getting its due, that doesn't mean that the set doesn't come with a great collection of amazing cards. From full art trainers to secret rares, Rebel Clash actually has a lot to offer!

Try your luck at pulling these cards from the following Pokemon card products:

#10. Galarian Perrserker Gold Secret Rare - 205/192

At #10 on the list of the most expensive Pokemon cards from Rebel Clash we have the Golden Secret Rare Galarian Perrserker. Perrserker was introduced in Gen 8 as an alternative evolution for Galarian Meowth. It's kind of a more intimidating, viking style version of Meowth with a beard. Odds are you either love Perrserker or hate him.

When Rebel Clash was first released it is perhaps noteworthy to mention that Perrserker was much closer to the top of the list of expensive cards from Rebel Clash. A lot of the change in value is perhaps because collectors are valuing certain types of cards higher, such as full art trainers and rainbow rares.

Golden Secret Rare Galarian Perrserker 205/192 is currently valued around $26 at the time of writing.

#9. Rillaboom VMAX Rainbow Secret Rare - 193/192

If you played Sword and Shield for the Nintendo Switch or have otherwise enjoyed the TCG for Sword and Shield then you'll definitely be familiar with the starters for Gen 8, like this Rillaboom at #9. Rillaboom is the final evolution of Grookey. This big green gorilla man looks equally good in rainbow as evidenced by the Rillaboom VMAX Rainbow Rare.

Starters have a tendency to fetch higher prices as collectors have an obvious draw toward collecting them, ever since the original 3 established themselves as some of the most expensive Pokemon cards of all time. People who play the games end up having a strong connection with the first Pokemon they choose in the game, and this helps to drive the price on these secret rare cards.

Rainbow Secret Rare Rillaboom VMAX 193/192 is currently valued around $27 at the time of writing.

#8. Cinderace VMAX Rainbow Secret Rare - 194/192

It should be no surprise that Cinderace would make an appearance soon after Rillaboom as they both tend to have a strong following. If you are waiting to see Inteleon on this list though, I hate to break it to you, but he barely misses out on the top 10, being the 11th most valuable card from Rebel Clash.

Cinderace is a fire-rabbit. Not much really needs to be said about how cool a pairing that is for a Pokemon, and it's probably safe to say Cinderace is the most popular starter from Gen 8. If you ask me, though? Grookey-gang all the way! I'll give Cinderace a close second.

The Rainbow Secret Rare Cinderace VMAX 194/192 is currently valued around $27.50 at the time of writing.

#7. Ninetales V Full Art - 177/192

Now we arrive at an extremely underrated card from Rebel Clash, the Full Art Ninetales. The gorgeous design on this Gen-1 favorite will impress any Ninetales fans. Ninetales itself takes up the vast majority of the space on this card, in true Full Art fashion.

I just can't say enough about this card. When Rebel Clash was the 'current' set this card was way undervalued. Over time collectors have come to realize how amazing the art on this card is, and it has slowly started making its way up the rankings. It is very deserving of its place at #7, and may have higher to climb in the future.

Ninetales V Full Art 177/192 is currently valued around $28 at the time of writing.

#6. Boss's Orders Full Art - 189/192

If you asked anyone at release what their number 1 chase card is, the most common answer likely would be Boss's Orders. While this card is found at #6 on our list, it isn't the only version of Boss's Orders from the set (hint hint).

The value of Boss's Orders from Rebel Clash is due to several reasons. First, it features the popular Gen-1 head of Team Rocket, Giovanni. Giovanni is a total boss (pun... intended?) and has a huge following as the first major bad guy. This card is also very playable in the TCG, and offers a lot of display-ability in a collection.

Boss's Orders Full Art 189/192 is currently valued around $31 at the time of writing.

#5. Dragapult VMAX Rainbow Secret Rare - 197/192

At #5 on our list of the most expensive Pokemon cards from Rebel Clash we've got the Dragapult VMAX Rainbow Rare. Dragapult is a new Pokemon introduced in Gen 8. Despite being a new introduction to the TCG, game, and Pokemon world in general, Dragapult hasn't had any trouble gaining traction with the fanbase.

In fact, Dragapult has consistently ranked among the best Pokemon in the Sword and Shield meta for the Nintendo Switch. Having so much success in the TCG and game has driven this Pokemon's popularity up quite a bit, and it's no surprise that we can find him so high on this list.

The Rainbow Secret Rare Dragapult VMAX 197/192 is currently valued around $32 at the time of writing.

#4. Frosmoth Gold Secret Rare - 204/192

Next on our list is the Golden Secret Rare Frosmoth. We're happy to see another Pokemon that was introduced in Gen 8 make it onto this list. If you ask me, this card is honestly one of the best Golden Secret Rares to come out of the Sword and Shield sets.

The white and green paired on the gold textured background creates an unexpectedly amazing display when you see this card in person. Pictures on the internet simply don't do it justice - it's a very nice card for any collection, and definitely stands out in a collection of secret rares.

Golden Secret Rare Frosmoth 204/192 is currently valued around $33 at the time of writing.

#3. Boss's Orders Rainbow Secret Rare - 200/192

At #3 on our list we have a familiar face! The Rainbow Secret Rare Boss's Orders actually used to be the #1 most expensive card in Rebel Clash, but two cards recently surged in popularity causing them to take Giovanni's place.

It may even be fair to say that the release of Boss's Orders marked a change among collectors to value Full Art trainers a lot higher than they used to. Boss's Orders was originally sought after for the card game (even the regular holo used to go for quite a bit), but collectors took over in driving the value of Full Art trainers, even the ones that didn't see as much use in the TCG.

Rainbow Secret Rare Boss's Orders 200/192 is currently valued around $38 at the time of writing.

#2. Sonia Full Art - 192/192

If Boss's Orders was the number 1 chase card of Rebel Clash at release, then the Full Art versions of Sonia definitely would've been number 2. This version in particular has got to be the most beautiful card in Rebel Clash, and realistically one of the most beautiful cards in all Sword and Shield sets.

Sonia was a fan-favorite as soon as she was introduced in Sword and Shield. She is the granddaughter of Professor Magnolia and Leon's childhood friend. This card is one of the most exciting to pull in Rebel Clash and looks very nice in any Full Art collection.

Full Art Sonia 192/192 is currently valued around $40 at the time of writing.

#1. Sonia Rainbow Secret Rare - 203/192

If you didn't pick up on our (not-so) subtle hints about the increasing value of Full Art Trainers recently then you may not have seen this coming at #1 on our list. The most expensive card in Rebel Clash right now is the Full Art Rainbow Secret Rare Sonia.

When you really think about it, it's kind of surprising that Full Art trainers have left such an impact on collectors. This set actually has a number of excellent Pokemon pulls. It has all of the starter evolutions in Rainbow versions, heavy hitters like Milotic, Ninetales, Dragapult and Toxtricity, and yet here we are - a Full Art Trainer is the number one most expensive card on the list.

Full Art Trainers took a long time to prove their value. Historically Trainer cards have always been seen as mostly worthless. You can find countless examples of custom Pokemon card bundles on eBay that include disclaimers that they don't contain any Energy cards or Trainers. The general dislike of Trainer cards would lead many people to believe that Full Art Trainers would suffer the same fate.

The fact that Full Art Trainer cards make up all of the Top 3 cards on this list, as well as almost half of the Top 10 cards is a real sign that the collecting community has accepted Full Art Trainers as having significantly more value than their regular counterparts. We are very happy that the Rainbow Rare Sonia has climbed in value to number 1 on this list, and we suspect it may not be done climbing in value.

Rainbow Secret Rare Sonia 203/192 is currently valued around $50 at the time of writing.
