The Charizard Super Premium Collection includes:

- Charizard ex #161 promo card
- Charmander and Charmelon cosmos holo reprints #004 & #005
With an MSRP of $79.99 and 10 booster packs included, that puts our pack price at $8 a pack before taking any additional accessories into account. The Charizard promo and cosmos holo Charmander and Charmeleon cards are cool binder cards, but the real value comes from the Charizard display figure.
The Charizard display figure in the Super Premium Collection is a decent size and a high-quality design. As a display piece on a collection shelf, it is perfect. Whether you choose to open the box or keep it sealed, this product is made to be displayed. Should you buy the box for the display figure, though?
What is the Value of the Charizard Super Premium Collection?
The Charizard display figure by itself is currently available on eBay for around $30, though there are limited sales to support this value. The included Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard cards have recent sales of around $18, bringing the approximate value of these components to around $48.
If you are purchasing the Charizard Super Premium Collection at MSRP, this isn’t a great value proposition. If you can pick the box up at $60 on the open market, that means you can get the pack price down to around $1.20 a pack. This of course would not include the cost of selling and shipping the components.
Is the Charizard Super Premium Collection Box Worth It?
Ultimately, the Charizard Super Premium Collection is probably only worth it right now if you can get it for $60 or less on eBay or Amazon and you want to display the Charizard figure or the sealed box. You can’t practically bring the pack price down much since the figure would be expensive to ship, and there is no guarantee the prices on the bonus components will stay where they are.
