Scarlet & Violet Visual Set List

The "Scarlet & Violet" expansion marks the beginning of the Scarlet & Violet Series in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released worldwide on March 31, 2023. This expansion introduces Koraidon and Miraidon as Pokémon ex and brings in elements from the Scarlet and Violet video games, including the new Tera mechanic based on the Terastal phenomenon. The Japanese version, "Scarlet ex • Violet ex," was released earlier in January 2023, followed by localized versions across Asia.

This expansion also introduces several design changes to the Pokémon TCG. Internationally, card borders have shifted from yellow to gray to match the Japanese versions, enhancing the artwork’s visibility. Expansion symbols have been replaced with expansion and language codes, and all Rare cards in booster packs will now be holofoil, with a guaranteed three Holofoil cards per pack. Trainer cards feature clearer subcategories, and Basic Energy cards now display an additional Energy symbol for easier tracking during gameplay. Additionally, Pokémon Tool cards have been reclassified as their own category within Trainer cards, separate from Item cards.
