Surging Sparks Pikachu ex #238 SIR PSA 10 Already at Auction!

It is officially release day of the newest Pokemon card set Surging Sparks, and already a PSA 10 copy of the most expensive card in the set is available at auction on eBay. The Pikachu ex #238 Special Illustration Rare was likely pulled or purchased during pre-release and immediately sent off for grading at a premium tier.

So far, it appears this will pay off for the grader, with the auction already passing $8,000. This valuation is through the roof compared to anything else currently being graded in modern Pokemon, with the Evolving Skies Moonbreon currently selling around $1,700. Still, some will likely be skeptical that a buyer will be willing to pay the premium, and that it may just be shill bids in the end.
