Now that it has been several weeks since the release of Journey Together, we are taking a fresh look at the top 10 most expensive cards from the set. The Pokemon market has seen some cooling off since the peak of the Journey Together release, and while these cards have seen price decline, there is still a lot of purchasing interest in some of the best cards from the set.

Although the Wailord Illustration Rare #162 did not make our initial list for the Top 10 most expensive cards from Journey Together at release, this card has only increased in interest as singles hit the secondary market. As an illustration rare, this card is 7 times easier to pull than any specific SIR. This plays a massive part in the balance of supply and demand, which determines the price of these cards.

The 9th most expensive card from Journey Together is another Illustration Rare. The Articuno Illustration Rare #161 was #6 at pre-release, then #7 at release. Now that a few weeks have passed and cards are hitting the secondary market, we see the clear results of greater supply, even for a popular chase card. We saw this card decline from $70 at pre-release, down to around $30 at present time.

The Iono's Bellibolt ex Gold Secret Rare #188 came in at pre-release at #12. Over time this card has managed to increase in ranking while the price has seen some consolidation. More recently, this Gold Secret Rare has started to find stability around the $30 price point. Iono has a big presence in Journey Together, and Gold Secret Rare cards have a rarity of around 1/140 packs. This makes them even harder to pull than the popular SIRs from the set.

The 7th most expensive card from Journey Together is the Volcanion ex SIR #182. There are only 2 non-Trainer SIRs in Journey Together, though the other one is ranked higher and features a more popular Pokemon. Volcanion appeared for the first time in Generation VI, and though it isn't a particularly popular Pokemon, the rarity of this card limits the supply on the secondary market.

N's Zoroark ex Gold Secret Rare is one of the first cards on the list to show a big jump, from #9 at both pre-release and release, to #6 at present. The Gold Secret Rare N's Zoroark is one of the only cards you could have bought at release and managed to maintain your value.

Although Hop's Zacian has dropped in value from the original $140 price point at pre-release, it has managed to stay at #5 on this list the whole time. This indicates the value of the set has dropped across the board, but Hop's Zacian SIR #186 hasn't dropped in favor relative to the other cards in Journey Together.

The Salamence ex SIR #187 has had a very strong showing in English, ranking between 2nd and 4th since pre-release. This is an interesting one to compare to Japanese, as the Japanese version only goes for $36 on the secondary market right now. It seems Salamence may be far more popular in English than in Japanese, as this discrepancy has remained since pre-release.

The 2nd most expensive card in Journey Together is the N's Zoroark ex SIR #185, though the margin between 2 and 3 is currently razor thin. The Salamence and N's Zoroark SIRs have competed for the #2 spot since release, though a recent price correction for Salamence caused the cards to flip rankings. It will be interesting to see if the gap grows, or if Salamence starts to regain its losses.
