In Japanese, it draws heavily from Abyss Eye (M5), which releases May 22, 2026 and also stars Mega Darkrai ex.

Pitch Black Set Overview

Pitch Black artwork

Pitch Black is an English Pokemon card set built around Mega Darkrai ex as its signature Pokemon. Adapted largely from Japan’s Abyss Eye expansion, the set draws from the Mega Dimension DLC in Pokemon Legends: Z-A and continues the rollout of Mega Evolution Pokemon ex and other game-inspired cards. With Mega Darkrai at the center, Pitch Black leans into a darker, more mysterious theme. The set is scheduled to release in English on July 17, 2026.
