It is based on the Japanese set Terastal Festival ex, which launched on December 6th, 2024.

This comprehensive guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the release of Prismatic Evolutions. From official release dates and must-have chase cards to detailed set information and tips on where and how to purchase Prismatic Evolutions products.

So what makes Prismatic Evolutions such a good set?

Prismatic Evolutions Set Overview

Eeveelution Set
Notably, Prismatic Evolutions marks the first set since Evolving Skies to spotlight the beloved Eeveelutions so prominently. Early leaks from the back of the poster collection have already given us a sneak peek at the stunning Special Illustration Rare Eeveelutions, including the Umbreon SIR.

Reverse-Holo Masterballs
Prismatic Evolutions introduces an exciting twist in the reverse holo slot, offering three possible options: a standard reverse holo, a Poke Ball reverse holo, and the highly coveted Master Ball reverse holo. This marks the first time these Master Ball reverse holos will appear in the English TCG. When Master Ball reverse holos debuted in Japan’s 151 set, they quickly became highly collectible and commanded a notable premium. In fact, in Terastal Festival, the Umbreon Master Ball reverse holo is currently the most expensive card in the set.

Possible God-Packs?
In Terastal Festival ex, we have seen confirmed God Packs. These packs contain multiple high-rarity hits, such as Eeveelution SARs or SIRs. Although it is not confirmed yet on the English side, We did see Pokemon add something similar to God Packs in Pokemon-151, where you could pull an entire starter evolution line in a single pack. Many collectors are expecting Pokemon to do something similar with Prismatic Evolutions.

Prismatic Evolutions Top Cards

Since we have Terastal Festival prices to reference, we can make some assumptions about which cards are likely to be the most expensive cards in Prismatic Evolutions. As you may have guessed, there is a strong preference for the Eeveelutions, just like we saw in Evolving Skies.

Here are the best cards from Terastal Festival ex, and the likely top pulls for Prismatic Evolutions:

The Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box is probably your safest bet when it comes to getting a good product with a decent chance at pulls. The Prismatic Evolutions ETB includes the SVP-173 Eevee promo card which is already going for around $30 on the secondary market, so that helps offset some of the cost of the box. The MSRP of the Prismatic Evolutions ETB is $59.99, so be aware of inflated prices on the secondary market. Finding one of these boxes at MSRP in-store would be an amazing value.

If nothing else, be sure to keep an eye on the price of Prismatic Evolutions booster packs after release day. As people start getting their products, we could possibly see more booster packs hitting the market as stores break down sealed products to sell stock more quickly. We can't be sure if loose packs will necessarily be safe to purchase for this set, so stick with only trustworthy stores if you are buying loose packs.
