Prismatic Evolutions hit shelves just 10 days ago, and we've already witnessed the first PSA 10 Umbreon #161 Special Illustration Rare sell on eBay. Meanwhile, several more graded copies are currently up for auction.
The PSA 10 SIR Umbreon ex sold as a Buy it Now with Best Offer, with an asking price of $5,432 by a seller named desert_trading_post.
We reached out to the seller who was nice enough to confirm that a best offer of $5,000 was accepted on the listing, and the buyer completed payment. As far as we are aware, this is the first confirmed sale of a PSA 10 Umbreon SIR for Prismatic Evolutions.
They also went on to say that they were receiving some irrational messages from other sellers on eBay who were angry that the BIN price was "so low", and that the asking price was ruining a much higher potential for other sellers.
Notably, the Japanese Umbreon from Terastal Festival has been selling in the $600-$700 price range in a PSA 10, representing a major price difference between English and Japanese.
At the time of writing, there are 5 other PSA 10 Prismatic Evolutions Umbreon SIRs for sale on eBay, with 2 auctions in the $2,500 - $5,000 range, and the lowest BIN at $6,000.
As more graded Umbreon SIRs start to come back from PSA, we fully expect some volatility in the price. We're also waiting to see what prices the card can achieve as a Perfect 10 with CGC or as a BGS Black Label. Stay cautious if you are looking to purchase this card on the secondary market, as the price swings can very likely be violent when competition increases.
