Top 10 Most Expensive Cards From Heat Wave Arena

Top 10 Most Expensive Cards From Heat Wave Arena

The Hobby Bin Staff |

Heat Wave Arena was officially released in Japan on March 14, 2025, and has already seen significant activity on the secondary market. Heat Wave Arena continues the trend with Owner's Pokemon like we saw in Battle Partners, with several of these cards among the most valuable. Heat Wave Arena will be included in the English set Destined Rivals, which is predicted to be the largest Pokémon TCG release of 2025. Here are the top 10 most expensive cards from Heat Wave Arena!

Levincia Gold Ultra Rare #092 is currently valued around $16 at the time of writing.

Levincia Gold Ultra Rare #092 is the 10th most expensive card from Heat wave Arena. Levincia is a city from the Paldea Region with a special focus in Electric type Pokemon. Iono is the gym leader of Levincia, and a popular trainer that was featured as a top card in Battle Partners. We always enjoy seeing gold stadium cards make these lists to introduce some variety.

Arven's Mabosstiff ex Special Art Rare #088 is currently valued around $18 at the time of writing.

The 9th most expensive card from Heat Wave Arena, and the first Special Art Rare to make the list, is the Arven's Mabosstiff ex #088 SAR. Arven is a friend and rival character featured in Scarlet & Violet. He has an avid interest in cooking, and has a companion Mabosstiff that has been with him since it was a Maschiff. This artwork is done by Yuriko Akase, a newer artist for the Pokemon TCG that also brought us the Alolan Exeggutor ex in Surging Sparks.

Ethan's Typhlosion Art Rare #070 is currently valued around $20 at the time of writing.

The 8th most expensive card from Heat Wave Arena is Ethan's Typhlosion #070. Although just an Art Rare, this card manages to make the top 10 list due to the popularity of Typhlosion and the card's fantastic artwork. It will be interesting to see how the price plays out over time as a popular card with an easier pull rate. We do wonder how the price would compare if it was an SAR instead.

#7. Yanmega ex Special Art Rare #085

Yanmega ex Special Art Rare #085 is currently valued around $26 at the time of writing.

Yanmega ex Special Art Rare #085 makes the list of most expensive cards from Heat Wave Arena at #7. Although perhaps a simple design somewhat resembling a Full Art card, the Yanmega ex #085 has a limited supply available to purchase on the secondary market at the moment, leading to a higher price. We think there is a good possibility this card will drop in the future.

#6. Misty's Psyduck Art Rare #071

Misty's Psyduck Art Rare #071 is currently valued around $30 at the time of writing.

Misty's Psyduck Art Rare #071 is a fan-favorite from the set, and despite only being an Art Rare, manages to take the 6th most expensive spot on this list. While there are multiple copies to go around, the demand is through the roof for this card, driving the price higher. This is reminiscent of Misty's Starmie #TG13 that was featured in Astral Radiance and quickly became one of the most sought after cards in the set. Although this card has a higher pull rate, we expect this card will continue to see a lot of demand.

At #5 on the list of the most expensive cards from Heat Wave Arena is Ethan's Ho-oh ex #090 Gold Ultra Rare. In Battle Partners, we saw the Gold Ultra Rares taking some of the top spots, and that is no different in Heat Wave Arena. Ho-oh is a very popular Legendary Pokemon from Gen-2, and one that really hasn't been featured as a big-hit card in a while. One of the most iconic Ho-oh cards of all time is the Neo Revelation #7 holo Ho-oh

Few trainers are as popular among collectors as Cynthia, and her signature Garchomp remains a fan favorite. It’s no surprise that Cynthia’s Garchomp ex #091 Gold Ultra Rare ranks as the fourth most expensive card from Heat Wave Arena. The Gold UR Owner’s Pokemon cards take full advantage of the design space, with artwork extending across the entire card. This card currently barely outpaces the Gold UR Ethan's Ho-oh in terms of price.

#3. Ethan's Adventure Special Art Rare #089

Ethan's Adventure Special Art Rare #089 is currently valued around $65 at the time of writing.

The third most expensive card in Heat Wave Arena is Ethan's Adventure #089 Special Art Rare. This SAR is very endearing, though some collectors are a bit salty that we didn't get an actual Ethan's Pichu card in Heat Wave Arena. Ethan is the main playable character from Gold and Silver, and the male playable character featured in Crystal. This is the only SAR to make the list of top cards from Heat Wave Arena that features the Trainer instead of the Pokemon.

#2. Ethan's Ho-oh ex Special Art Rare #086

Ethan's Ho-oh ex SAR #086 is a stunning card that makes the #2 spot of the most expensive cards from Heat Wave Arena. This artwork by Atsushi Furusawa definitely calls to mind the first episode of Pokemon where Ash supposedly sees Ho-oh flying through the clouds. It's also a similar angle as we see on the Lugia Alternate Art featured in Silver Tempest, making these two cards great options for a binder pair.

The most valuable card in Heat Wave Arena, and certainly one to look out for in Destined Rivals, is Cynthia's Garchomp ex #087 SAR. Interestingly, this card is done by a brand new artist for the Pokemon TCG named HICO KIM. When we say brand new - we mean it. This is the only card they have illustrated. What an introduction!

Cynthia is an extremely popular Trainer, first featured in Diamond and Pearl as the Champion of the Sinnoh region. Cynthia’s Garchomp has appeared in multiple games, media, and merchandise. In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it ties with Red’s Pikachu from HeartGold and SoulSilver as the highest-level NPC-owned Pokémon at level 88. This card is by far the most expensive and biggest chase card of Heat Wave Arena.
